Just A Little Dress

Too hot to be in the garden this afternoon so I fancied doing a bit of sewing
I made this little dress for my youngest granddaughter
The pattern came with Make it Today magazine
There was three pattern packs with the magazine I like the little girl one and it had six different variations
I adapted the design to my own making adding Ric Rac trim and doing stitching to go round all the edges, it finished it off nicely.
I will get it in the post tomorrow hopefully it will fit.

Burning and Folding

I have been playing around with Pyrography, I haven't really done any for a long time
First up was this box
I used a stencil to draw out the design then set to burning it out, the lid has now been varnished, I use this box to keep all the different pyrography nibs in.
I then moved onto my book
This wooden covered note book is what I use to write recipes in that I have tried and adapted that I use time and again, again it has been varnished.

I sat and did another folded book while watching TV last night
I need to get it covered and decorated now.
Tats my crafting up to date for this week.

Amy Butler Tunic

This months Sew magazine
came with a bonus pattern for a tunic top, I do like tunic tops and decided to make this one
Now the model in the picture must be a petite extra small size and I was under no illusion that is was going to look the same on me.
Also the pattern included a tie belt y opinion is if you have a lovely waist line then flaunt it with a belt but as I haven't I omitted the belt, I also omitted the fluffy corsage flower I am not a frilly fluffy person, plain Jane that's me.

The fabric is 100% cotton and the top is fully lined, the pattern on the fabric makes it look all creased but believe me it isn't, there is the option on the pattern to make it shorter like a crop top, but not for me, the longer the better covers a multitude of sins.
want to see it on

If I was to make it again, I would omit the buttons at the back and do the back yoke all in one as the neckline is fairly loose and I can put it on without undoing the buttons, also I don't think I would line it, and perhaps make it a bit longer.
that's the joys of dressmaking alter it to suit.
