Spinning a Yarn

As of late I have been doing a fair amount of spinning

And I am improving much to my delight
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=11zmwESUpDHxUEAag0Rj_L9Vt9voIFGSA
Even trying some chain plying on the wheel
https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=184lUhizKWdkG-y6MaPjdsVGN8MfiYhOU
Which is now a big favourite with me
Basically it’s plying the yarn off one bobbin instead of off several bobbins

Using the niddy noddy to make skeins

And while the previous yarn is drying and settingI can move on to my next, this is one I picked upat the wool fest at Builth Wells

Still Being Fishy

There seems to have been a bit of fish theme going on in the cabin of late.
This week I was doing an underwater wall hanging

it was a fairly easy one to do
all the characters were done in applique using scraps from the scrap box
The background was strips of fabric put together to give the impression of the sea
It didnt take that long to do and made a small dent in the scrap box.

An order for a customer

Another dragon dream catcher has been made
This time in light airy girly colours.

I have been playing around with an idea for another dream catcher
Here is a preview glimpse of the idea, its not been fixed down yet still some work to do on it
An idea in the making.

A Project For Me

I got round to making something that I have had my eye on for some time

This big 3d fish he is 2 foot long and I love him.
I have mounted him on an artist canvas,
each section was made separately embroidered then all put together like a jig saw
There re 3 more in the set so I might get round to doing the others.

Over Christmas I started dabbling in a new craft Resin.
I have made lots of little bits and bobs with it
these were on my list to do.
setting Snowdrops in pendents I had to wait for our snowdrops to come up and we are several weeks behind everyone else but at last I had some appear and I got them set.

A Japanese Session

On Wednesday our little sewing group met up, the lady who was hosting this time had just come back from a tip to Japan
So set us a little Japanese  project to try with some supplies she brought back.
Sasiko stitching it was what the Japanese used to use for decorative mending stitching.
She had lots of lovely bits to show us from her trip
there are seven of us in the group, Jennie couldn't make today as she was at her quilting group and Julia was away visiting family.
December I was hosting and we did lampshade making
Jennie made hers from some Japanese fabric she patch worked together, Sian was also on a Japanese theme with some Kimono fabric, Sue made some 3d cherry blossom to decorate hers
I did a christmas winter scene for my one,
January Sian was hosting and we did some decorated candles using there different techniques
Its a lovely group and we have been meeting up for just over two years now, taking turn about hosting.
Next month we are dabbling in weaving.

Dragons and Photos

I have been working on some new products to take down to the shop
 Dragon Dream Catchers
I have been using a mix of materials,
Leather, vinyl, velvet, lace and denim, the dragons are 3d and mounted in a 12inch hoop, they have gone up for sale in the shop for £32.
Another project I have been working on is converting pet photos to embroidery.
It started with a photo of Sol and Tess I did last year and turned them into cushions

A few people had seen these and I was asked if I could do pets

This horse belongs to a friend
This is Wolfie who belongs to another friend, these embroidery's take a good few hours to stitch out and I am mounting them on 8x8 canvas.
