Still Being Fishy

There seems to have been a bit of fish theme going on in the cabin of late.
This week I was doing an underwater wall hanging

it was a fairly easy one to do
all the characters were done in applique using scraps from the scrap box
The background was strips of fabric put together to give the impression of the sea
It didnt take that long to do and made a small dent in the scrap box.

An order for a customer

Another dragon dream catcher has been made
This time in light airy girly colours.

I have been playing around with an idea for another dream catcher
Here is a preview glimpse of the idea, its not been fixed down yet still some work to do on it
An idea in the making.

Orders And Deliveries

This week end I got a couple of orders done
This wall hanging is for a fellow blogger, Its a new design I have been playing with
I managed to get a bag of Harris Tweed off cuts, they arrived yesterday, lovely colours and variety I have got a project in mind for them.
A trip into town and I popped into Lidl I was told they had denim jackets in for £11.99, I managed to gt a black one, I want to do an embroidery on the back of what I haven't decided.
I also got myself a couple of denim shirts £7.99 each one black and one blue again I am going to decorate them up.
More fabric arrived yesterday, lovely cottons, they are from a mystery fabric box I often subscribe to. Its nice to get a surprise through.
This cushion is an order for my niece, she wants it for mothers day
This picture I stitched out just for the fun of it, because I like it, I am going to pop it in a frame, I do like these scribble designs.
I might even re-stitch it on one of the shirts I got.

I have been crafting honest

The applique is done in leatherette with glitter vinyl for the windows
Easter bunnies, the ones in terracotta pots are table decorations the other two are holding chocolate eggs.
Wedding season is upon us
Lace horseshoes to bring good luck

And details are enhanced with machine embroidery
This one is going to be hung in the bathroom, in the meantime its been entered into a competition the theme is summer fun.
The competition is being run by one of the machine embroidery groups I belong to.

A Little Foxy

I saw this cushion on a lovely blog That Black Chick a few weeks ago, I was so taken by the simplistic design I kept thinking about it and today I got a chance to make it.
I have to get a cushion pad to fit it, the spare ones I had are too small
I found the fabric with the tees on in my stash,
I used some dark gold faux leather for the applique
buttons came from my stash.
It just has a simple envelope opening at the back,
The instructions were really easy to follow and there is a PDF to print out for the templates.

I also made some chicken doorstops and vinyl peg bags today, will show you another day.

And More New Lines

I have made up some pink pig fleece hats in toddler and child size
My sister wanted a poppy brooch, the top one I made with Organza didn't really like how it turned out, I then made a couple out of felt, much preferred them, I have stitched brooch pins on the backs of them, Martin has take the one for my sister to deliver to her today. The other two can go on the stall.
Chicken doorstops, I have a couple of these upstairs and when a friend who came to stay saw them she asked if I could make three for her she picked out a neutral fabric, I finally  got round to making them today, Martin can take them back and deliver them next week, I have some of the fabric left so will make another couple to go on the stall, to add some weight to them I fill a plastic bag with unscented cat litter and add that to door stops. Clean cheap and is better than adding grains.
I have also been working on some cheeky country angel's, I have a few different designs in this range to do.

New Lines

I have been working when time allowed this week on some new lines for my craft stall
I got this bag done yesterday, its made from leatherette vinyl, the squares were all embroidered separately then stitched together to make the panels, its all been lined.
I have done these today, adult and child size fleece hats

I have just done this second design

and another hat done on the knitting loom, I enjoy doing these hats in the evening on the loom, they knit up really quick.

That's my crafting this week back in the cabin tomorrow :-)

Autumn Sampler Completed

Almost complete to be honest, all the applique and embroidery work is done, I only have to join all the sections together to make a complete panel.
section 1
section 2
section 3
section 4
This is how it all sits together
I am pleased with how it has all come out, joining it together is done by doing zig zag to bind it.
it will be ready then to hang on the wall.
That is tomorrows task.

More of the Autumn Panel

The other day I completed section 3 of the panel
The  one that went wrong
I was having a bad day, and didn't notice until I finished it I had put the background fabric on back to front,
so I had to re-do it
Section 3 re-done
Having re-done I then decided I didn't like how section 2 had turned out so I made another section 2
Section 2 I didn't like
Section 2 re done
Today I got section 4 done
Yes I am happy with this I love the material that's been used for the sky
And this is where it sits in relation to the other sections
Having to re-do 2 of the sections has put me back a bit I was hoping to have at least 2 of the panels completed, never mind there is bad weather coming so I can stay in the cabin and get it finished this week I hope, although I am heading off to Milton Keynes to spend a couple of days in the shop.
This morning I went to craft club in Pendacar and spent the morning showing them how to make the little pumpkin ornaments
Last year I made the big one out an old pair of jeans and used real dried leaves to decorate, I also made the little crochet one last year, looking at it now it needs a leaf added to it.
The week end I want to get my Autumn display out so I better get a move on and get it finished.

Autumn Folk Art Panel Pt1

After seeing some lovely autumn displays that fellow bloggers have been putting together in there homes, I thought I would do a seasonal display for the living room, I like the idea of having seasonal decorations that can be brought out and added to each year.
I found on line with one of the embroidery shops I use, a lovely Autumnal Folk Art Panel, its done in lots of sections that are then joined together.
The panel is in 12 sections and include applique in the hoop and machine embroidery.
The first part of the panel with its applique
The embroidery going on
section 1 completed
embroidery being added to section 2
section 2 completed
section 1 and 2 together not yet joined that will happen when all 12 sections are completed.
Its a great way of using up all the little scraps of fabric, I have a box that all little off cuts go into, its great fun choosing the bits of fabric for the applique and when the embroidery goes on it all comes to life.
I will work on the next sections over the next few days.
The web site I purchased the design from is www.secretsof.com
